WISH LIST FOR THE SUSTAINABLE LIVING CENTER

1. Help us fill our resource library- do you have current (less than 5 years old) books on green building, alternative energy and transportation, gardening or climate change that are just collecting dust? Donate your books to our new resource library and help our community become more resilient and sustainable!

2. Host an event or workshop at the Sustainable Living Center. Are you a business or organization that needs a space to host an event? Check out our rental brochure here. If you think that your event topic supports
RE Sources mission around sustainable communities, contact us to see if we can co-sponsor your event and get a reduced rental rate!

3. Sponsor a RE Sources event or workshop. Stay tuned for an updated schedule of events and workshops. Business sponsors can benefit from partnering with RE Sources by reaching new and captive audiences. Contact Bernadette here to get more information.

4. Donate to RE Sources and The RE Store. Make a tax-deductable gift to RE Sources and feel good about making a sound investment to the health and sustainability of your community!

The Sustainable Living Center is an innovative community hub where people can come to learn about green building and other sustainability issues. Our new facility, located at 2309 Meridian Street in Bellingham and features:

  • The RE Store, with its large inventory of affordable, recycled and vintage building materials.
  • Classrooms for volunteer training sessions and community workshops where people can learn how to testify at public hearings, monitor water pollution or become Beach Naturalists..
  • A library that will soon be filled with the latest information and news in conservation and green building.
  • A shop space for teaching people how to re-use construction materials, plumb a sink, install a window, or build a rain barrel.
  • Educational exhibits and interactive displays that link human actions and the environment—imagine calculating your global warming footprint or learning about how to reduce energy consumption in your home.
  • RE Sources' education and advocacy offices.

“The environmental group RE Sources and its offshoot The RE Store have been great successes for downtown Bellingham… Its programs in the community and through schools throughout the county have greatly enriched the quality of environmental education here. We wish the organization well in raising money, finding a home and building its visionary new center.”
